About the Centreமையத்தைப் பற்றி
Our centre was established by devotees to preserve and spread the teachings of Srimath Pamban Swamigal, the great saint and devotee of Lord Murugan. We conduct daily prayers, weekly satsangs and annual ceremonies, and we serve the community through free meals, education support and spiritual guidance.

Born Appavu around 1850 near Rameswaram, Srimath Pamban Kumaraguru Dasa Swamigal gave his whole life to Lord Murugan. He poured that devotion into song — thousands of hymns that devotees still sing today for protection, healing and grace.
சுமார் 1850-இல் இராமேஸ்வரம் அருகே ‘அப்பாவு’ என்ற பெயரில் அவதரித்த ஸ்ரீமத் பாம்பன் குமரகுருதாச சுவாமிகள், தம் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதையும் முருகப்பெருமானுக்கே அர்ப்பணித்தார். அவர் இயற்றிய ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பாடல்களை இன்றும் பக்தர்கள் காப்புக்காகவும் நலத்துக்காகவும் அருளுக்காகவும் பாடி வருகின்றனர்.

இராமேஸ்வரம் அருகே சைவக் குடும்பத்தில் ‘அப்பாவு’ எனும் பெயரில் அவதரித்தார்.
Begins composing verses to Murugan, taking Arunagirinathar as his guide.
அருணகிரிநாதரை வழிகாட்டியாகக் கொண்டு முருகன் மீது பாடல்கள் இயற்றத் தொடங்கினார்.
Composes the Shanmuga Kavasam and the Panchamirtha Vannam.
சண்முக கவசம், பஞ்சாமிர்த வண்ணம் ஆகியவற்றை இயற்றினார்.
Thirty-five days of tapas at Prappan Valasai, where he receives upadesam from Murugan.
பிரப்பன்வலசையில் 35 நாட்கள் தவம் இருந்து முருகப்பெருமானிடமிருந்து உபதேசம் பெற்றார்.
Takes sannyasa, and later settles in Chennai.
துறவறம் ஏற்று, பின்னர் சென்னையில் வாழ்ந்தார்.
A horse-cart accident breaks his leg on 12 December 1923. On 6 January 1924, as devotees chant the Shanmuga Kavasam, he sees Murugan on His peacock and the leg heals.
1923 டிசம்பர் 12 அன்று குதிரை வண்டி மோதி கால் முறிந்தது. 1924 ஜனவரி 6 அன்று பக்தர்கள் சண்முக கவசம் ஓதிக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது, மயில் மீது முருகனைத் தரிசித்து குணமடைந்தார்.
Attains samadhi on 30 May at Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, where his shrine stands today.
மே 30 அன்று சென்னை திருவான்மியூரில் மகாசமாதி அடைந்தார்; அவரது சமாதி ஆலயம் இன்றும் அங்கு உள்ளது.
His best-loved hymn: thirty verses asking Murugan's protection over body and life. Devotees recite it daily, and in times of illness or danger.
சுவாமிகளின் மிகவும் போற்றப்படும் பாடல். உடலுக்கும் உயிருக்கும் முருகனின் காப்பை வேண்டும் முப்பது பாடல்கள். பக்தர்கள் இதைத் தினமும், நோய் அல்லது இடர் காலங்களில் சிறப்பாகவும் ஓதுகின்றனர்.
Celebrates his vision of Murugan on the peacock in 1924. Observed every year in the Tamil month of Margazhi, on Prathamai — the day after the new moon.
